I believe this may be a stronger book than the second.

Cons: It dragged a bit in the middle. There was a definite attempt to develop the mother's character, but I never did find her to be a contributing member of the story. I get that she is important in establishing James as a caregiver, but we never see her being especially appreciative and her one line about misjudging someone seems insufficient.

Pros: Daphne and James are well developed and the HEA is believable. The side characters of the brothers (Linus and Bennett) are both well enough developed that I'd like to see them each get a book (after the next Jonquil brothers book, of course). Adam is back and he and Persephone are easily one of the best developments of this story. Their now 7-yr-old marriage is written in such a way that you can see its development and depth and the way it has changed them both. Adam is still The Duke of Keilder and all that entails including an ongoing fondness for threatening to kill you in an endless number of ways. He remains one of my favorite Eden characters.

Despite the bit of dragging in the middle, this one is as fun, and at times heartbreaking, as Finding Persephone. Recommend it.

Romancing Daphne Sarah M Eden 9781524402969 Books Reviews

I have missed the Lancaster family so much! And I LOVE how much Adam is in this book. I've always loved his relationship with Daphne. I had super high expectations for this book and I was 100% not disappointed! Daphne's story was beautiful.
Such a sweet story. Like all of Sarah’s others books I have come to love the Lancaster Family. So much heartache that Young Daphne had to endure as a child but grew into such a strong adult who does have a fragile shell who also cares so deeply for others especially her family.
I loved how we got to see a special bond that she and Adam have throughout this story. Adam is not only her older Bro-in-Law but steps into the roll of a father figure that she longed to have growing up.
Then along comes James who at first I wasn’t sure of, but he became of my favorite characters. Even though he and Daphne’s friendship/relationship was all for namesake at first it was nice to see an actually friendship which turned into so much more in the end.
This story really is about, letting things that have hurt us in the past go, forgiving others, building family bonds and friendships that lead to a love and marriage and finding peace with others and ourselves.
I highly recommend this story!
It has been at least a couple of years since I have read about the Lancaster family, and the Dangerous Duke, Adam Kielder. Not until I was two pages into the story did I realize that the heroine in this book was our little Daphne that used to sit with the Duke in his office for an hour each day. Had I realized it sooner, I would have IMMEDIATELY purchased the book and started reading, rather than having it sit in my Wish list! All that said, it was wonderful to see our little Daphne grow up to find someone truly special, and it was great to have the fearsome Duke again causing members of the ton to quake in their boots, and literally turn around and run out of the room. Ha! A great time! I am assuming (and hoping) we will be privileged to hear about Artemis and Linus in future,.... And hope we may even get to read about Adam doing more than just issuing numerous threats in their behalf (Adam in action is a jolly good time!) Buy it, but before you do, read Seeking Persephone and Courting Miss Lancaster - two in my short list of all-time favorite books. (Sarah M. Eden always writes clean/wholesome books - yay!)
What fun to be back with old friends from the previous books and to learn more of their stories! This story is rich with great wit, emotion, romance and humor. Both Daphne and James must learn to trust and overcome self-doubt as their hearts draw closer together. As in the previous books in the series Adam has absolutely wonderful dialogue! The author is masterful at creating complex characters and memorable scenes. The scene in which James’ dad is comes for a meal and finds himself put in his place by every member of the household is fantastic and so deserved. The romance is sweet and satisfying as the kindhearted Daphne and James find that they are truly soul-mates. What a great addition to the Lancaster series!
I love Sarah Eden’s books! I do a little happy dance every time I see that a new one is coming out. I was very excited for this one! I love Adam and I was curious to see how he would react to Daphne being courted. I knew from Courting Miss Lancaster that he and Daphne have a very special relationship, and I knew he would be extremely protective of her. He didn’t disappoint. The Dangerous Duke was in fine form, and it was so fun! He makes me laugh and cheer and I just love him!

Daphne has always been the shy sister. It was wonderful to get to know her! She is the most kind, humble, unassuming person. She is witty and bright. She deserved an amazing guy. And she got one! James is just looking to be Daphne’s friend at first, but as he gets to know the girl behind the shyness, he realizes what a treasure she is. He becomes so devoted to her, and it was so tender and sweet to watch.

We get to see more of Linus and Artemis in this book, and it just made me more excited for their books to come out. Artemis is quite the character! Her book is going to be so fun! While I wait for their books, I guess I’ll just have to read the rest of the series again. )

I absolutely loved this book!! Sarah Eden has a way of writing that draws me in from the very beginning and holds me to the end. She is a master storyteller! She is one of my favorite authors, and I’ll be waiting anxiously for her next book!
