I loved the action, I loved the romance, I loved the plot!!!!Sasha was a hybird, human/wolf who was also military special forces for the paranormal unit. All around badass who didn't know the full story of her birth. She meets a man (Hunter) one night that has demon-infected blood running thru his veins from birth. Because he was from the shadow-wolf clan and born infected, it didnt affect him in the same way that it affected the other wolf tribes. which with one nick/bite, they would become fully demon-infected werewolves and have to be put down.

Boy did things heat up when these two came to together. Hunter was a very sexy, strong, tall, shapeshifting, shadow jumping, gorgeous man. When they teamed up to fight evil things got handled. Did i forget to mention vamps,and all the other creatures that really exist when the sun went down.

There's a lot going on in this 6 book series that would leave you wanting more, so i suggest that you sit back and enjoy the read.

Best sci-fi writer ever! Had the pleasure of meeting Ms. Banks twice at book signings. She is greatly missed!!
Meet Special Ops Officer, Sasha Trudeau. She is a mean fighting machine, but still has the charms and allure most women would die for! She and her colleagues work for the government. Highly trained, will fight together and die together. Under Operation Dog Star they fight against impropriety, but there is always that one entity which cares not about propriety. The team with their special characteristics fight against evil, inbeknownst to them they are subject to changes they have no will to fight against! But do they? Come along for a ride with the Special Ops force and find out how werewolves co-exist and what they are really about. If you thought you knew about werewolves before, you were wrong.
It really is a shame that such a wonderfully talented author is gone. Buy her series and let them take you on unique urban fantasy rides. Although there will never be a new story to read, what she did write is definitely worth reading. In my case, multiple times ;)
Always and forever will I love L.A. Banks. I was a huge fan of her Vampire Huntress legend series and after I found out she passed, I resolved to read all her work. This book is different from that series in the sense that it focuses mainly on the evil in all vampires, but the writing style is the same. To be honest, its a little more primitive compared to the VHL series, but that's probably cuz this series was written first and her style matured by the next one lol. All in all, a great read. Thanks L.A. banks. We miss you. RIP.

I wouldn't advise anyone to buy this book. If you really want to read it then get it from the library. I find I'm in complete agreement with NoirFemme's review who listed her reasons much better than I'll be able to do. In short, I don't connect with (or even particularly care about) the characters, the book seems like an info dump and NEVER draws me into it and, the story feels stilted and even a bit pretentious. In fact, it's taken me a couple of weeks to read because, bored, I keep putting it down and reading something else. This is my first L.A. Banks book and I was expecting much better. Based on this book alone, I'd never buy another by this author but, given that she's published so many books, I'll probably give her one more try on the theory (hope) that this may be a deviation from her normal style.
this one is a page turner.... U are immersed into a world of special ops missions with a team that has some "extra" edge. As the pages turn you soon find out what that is and why they're chosen for these particular missions. Sasha (2nd in command of the team) discovers there are alot of things she didn't know about herself or her "extra" advantages, so when her teammates come up missing she is frantic to find out what is going on. A mysterious stranger named Hunter promises he can give her more answers, but can she trust him?
