"I was fourteen when it happened. The day the Mackey’s moved into the house next door. The day that changed my life, as much as it was, forever. A tiny, blonde girl standing on my doorstep would be the beginning of the craziness which became my life. This girl became my best friend, my confidant, my side kick, and brought the love of my life with her."

Chloe, a computer and gaming nerd, hides behind the scenes in school and keeps to herself. Mina enters her world like a hurricane, helping her find herself and introduces her to Leo, Mina’s gorgeous older brother. Chloe instantly developed a crush, but knows he only sees her as Mina’s best friend. Or does he?

Leo, graduating high school and trying to figure out what to do with his life, becomes immediately mesmerized by a gorgeous, tall brunette, dancing like she hadn’t a care in the world and laughing without restraint. Dumbfounded to find out this amazingly beautiful girl is Chloe, Mina’s best friend. He fights against his desire, determined he and Chloe cannot be together. But how long can you fight against true love?

All Grown Up is a laugh out loud, heartwarming and heart breaking tale following the lives of Chloe and Leo and all of their misfit friends. Through long distance and separate paths of life, can true love prevail once you’re all grown up?

** This is a slow burn and the characters are with other people during the story **

All Grown Up edition by Sadie Grubor Monica Black Literature Fiction eBooks

As other reviewers pointed out there is far too much drama and chaos. While I didn’t mind that the book spanned from their adolescent years into their thirties, the plot reads like a soap opera that has been on their air every day for half a decade where such drama is needed to keep the story going. This is one book, not a saga; and that is where a professional experienced editor would have made the difference between a 2 or 3 star book and a 4 or 5 star. In addition to all the daytime drama the main couple endures, there are far too many side characters whose stories are half told, and none of which are all that interesting. There is also a bit too much daily life in the beginning that does not really fuel the plot or add all that much to the background. Again—professional editing and beta readers needed.

Spoilers: Chloe and Leo have good chemistry, and steamy scenes. I was rooting and rooting for them to get together (okay stay together). If you start reading and feel the same way, rest assured they finally do get their HEA so the book is not a total waste, but you must endure many heart-jerks in the meantime. In fact, I can honestly say I was never so glad to read the word PLANE CRASH in my life! Hated that guy. Ugg did Chloe and Leo both make such idiotic immature decisions that only death could set back on track!

Overall: The sizzle is there between the main characters but the full potential of the story isn’t reached because it is bogged down with excess scenes and too many wrenches thrown at the star crossed lovers.

All Grown Up edition by Sadie Grubor Monica Black Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

Let me start off by saying I started reading this book at 800 last night and I didn't put it down until 130 this morning. IT WAS THAT GOOD! When I first started reading I thought "This is going to be your typical boy meets girl happily ever after." It was so much more than that! Yes, it does have a HEA but Leo & Chloe go through some major trials & tribulations to get to their HEA. Everything about this book just had a nice flow to it. The story wasn't rushed and it gave you an in depth look into both Leo & Chloe's POV of what they were going through both physically and emotionally. Another thing I loved about this book is the supporting characters! Chloe's two best friend's Mina & Roni are the type of friends that every girl wants to have. I don't think Chloe could have survived all that she went through without them. The only negative thing I can say about this book is that I did come across a few typos but in no way did that take away from the story itself. Please read this book so you can fall in love with Leo & Chloe's story as much as I did!
2-1/2 Stars
I'm not really sure how well I liked this book. I liked the concept of falling for your best friends brother BUT...
At first I liked Chloe but then I found her annoying and then I kinda liked her again. I always like Leo.
Chloe was a little slow when it came to Leo, I think the only true emotion she showed was when Leo got *******. I really didn't buy the reason why Leo unofficially broke up with Chloe and I didn't buy why Chloe kept her secret for so long. I like a little antsy but when you throw people in where it doesn't make sense to just cause some anguish, UGH NO! The person that was with Chloe, I mean come on and then what happened to him, Come on! She didn't even grieve that relationship, so why even bother?!
Why was that thing thrown in about the parents WTH?!
Could have been better, it felt rushed and had too many other character stories. Mina and Roni should he gotten their own books.
Leo's mind was interesting I loved being in it, "Jesus effing Christ, since when did little Chloe look like that? So much for my speech to Jay. My thoughts were anything but wholesome right now." Chloe knows how to give Leo back the grief he gives her, "Leonard Anthony Mackey, you DO NOT get to dictate what I can and can't do. I am not your sister and I am not your responsibility." Did I mention the fun of being in Leo's mind? "Jesus Christ! What was she wearing? That has to be Mina's work. I need to thank her and kill her at the same time." Mina be the good friend she is, lays it out to Chloe the intentions of her older brother as well Chloe is clueless, "Jesus Chloe, he would probably take you to Vegas and marry you at this point. Are you that clueless? He is so yours, regardless if you have take an official tittle." I liked this book there were some OMG moments so it kept me on my toes.
This book was such a roller-coaster. The book starts with introducing us to all the characters, which there are a lot. There were so many people introduced in such short time that I was confused for a while trying to figure out who the author was talking about. The main girls in the story are Mina, Roni, and Chloe and the boys are Max, Leo, and Oliver. The parents also played a part in the story and they were Judith and Kenneth, and Elaine and Robert. There were some other people, like siblings and friends but they were not that important in the story. Mostly it was about Chloe and Leo. It took a while for them to get together and then they break up so soon after that I was sad. The story covers much of their lives and I was actually surprised by that, since I thought going into the story that it was just going to be a few years of their lives. Once they broke up then a lot of stuff happened and the roller coaster truly got going. I was mad at Leo and then I was mad at Chloe and then I was sad and then happy and then sad and then mad, it was crazy. However, I was happy with the ending and was almost a bit sad that it ended, although it was a perfect ending.
